These are the basic rules of the Tournament:

1. There are two categories: Longsword and Rapier

2. The developement of the tournament is directly related to the number of participants.
If there are under 10 participants, only Victories, not points, will be accounted to determine the winner.
If there are over 10 participants, we will apply the below mentioned scoring system and add a the total sum of points and Victories to determine the winner, making sure there will be a minimum of combats.

3. Judges: They will be instructor from participant fencing schools, and under no circumstance will they attend the same combat as their pupils. 

4. In combat, these are the points awarded for each hit:
- Head and Body = 2 points
- Rest of the anatomy (Legs, Arms, Hands...) = 1 point
- Disarming (as offensive action, not accidental)* and Controlling your Opponent = 2 points

5. Penalties:
- 3 Lesser Faults = disqualified
- 2 Medium Faults =  disqualified 
- 1 Critical Fault =  disqualified 

Lesser Faults are, for example, an exagerated celebration of scoring a hit, slight disrispect towards opponent, judges or public. 

Medium Faults are disobeying direct instructions from judges, and accumulating 2 Lesser Faults.

Critical Faults contemplate a lack of control in combat, reckless behaviour, disregard for your own safety and that of others, and accumulating 2 Medium Faults or 3 Lesser Faults. 

6. Mandatory Protections:
- Fencing mast 1600N
- Chest Protection.
- Padded Gloves.
- Elbow pads.
- Groin protection.

Recomended protections:
- Knee pads
- Leg Protection.

Any extra protection is welcome.

Judges will be allowed to inspect all protections prior to combat, being able to forbid participation of any fencer without the appropriate gear.

7. Weapons
Will be inspected by Judges, point, edges, weight, flexibility and any other aspect to their criteria.
In case of rupture, the organization will provide a blade so the tournament can be finished.


8. Requirements for subscription:
- Being at least 18 years old.
- Belonging to an existing Fencing School.
